Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy describes the circumstances under which NewsPips AI issues refunds, processes subscription cancellations, and handles billing disputes. By starting a Pro or Analyst subscription, you agree to the terms below.
Free trial
NewsPips AI offers a 30-day free trial for the Pro and Analyst subscription tiers. A valid payment method is required at signup, but no charge is made until the trial period ends.
You may cancel at any time during the 30-day trial period without being charged. To cancel during the trial:
- Open NewsPips AI → Account → Billing
- Click Manage subscription to open the Stripe Customer Portal
- Choose Cancel subscription
Your access continues until the end of the trial period; after that, your account converts to the Free tier (or to the paid tier you chose, if you do not cancel before the trial ends).
After trial conversion
Once your trial has converted to a paid subscription:
- Subscriptions auto-renew on the cadence you selected (monthly or annual) until you cancel
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, not immediately. You retain full access to your subscription tier until that date
- No pro-rated refunds are issued for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-month or mid-year, your subscription continues to function until the end of the period you have already paid for; no portion of the prepaid amount is refunded
- No refunds are issued for unused time, unused features, or accidental renewals
This is industry-standard for digital subscription services.
Discretionary refunds
We may, at our sole discretion, issue a partial or full refund in exceptional circumstances, including:
- A confirmed billing error on our part (duplicate charges, incorrect amounts charged)
- A documented service outage exceeding 72 consecutive hours that materially prevented you from using the Service during a period you paid for
- A first-time charge from a converted trial that the user did not realize was occurring, requested within 7 days of the conversion date, where the account shows minimal usage after conversion
Discretionary refund requests should be sent to [email protected] with your account email and the relevant charge details. We respond within 3 business days.
Chargebacks and disputes
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at [email protected] before filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We will respond within 3 business days and attempt to resolve the issue.
Chargebacks filed without first contacting NewsPips AI may result in:
- Suspension of your NewsPips AI account pending investigation
- Termination of your account if the chargeback is determined to have been filed in bad faith
- Recovery of chargeback fees and any costs of dispute through Stripe's dispute process
We process payments through Stripe; refunds (when issued) are credited back to the original payment method via Stripe and typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your card issuer.
Subscription downgrades and upgrades
You may change your subscription tier at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal:
- Upgrades (Pro → Analyst) take effect immediately, with prorated charges for the remainder of the billing period
- Downgrades (Analyst → Pro, or paid → Free) take effect at the end of the current billing period; no refund is issued for the unused portion of the higher tier
Currency and pricing
All subscriptions are billed in US Dollars (USD). Prices are listed on https://newspips.ai/pricing and may change with at least 30 days' notice for existing subscribers (price changes apply at the next renewal after notice has been given).
