GBP/USD news for October 14, 2026
The British Pound has stayed inside its range for a third week, gaining on BRC Like-For-Like Retail Sales data despite geopolitical tensions but drifting back at times as rising crude oil lifted the US dollar and clouded the Bank of England's outlook. Early gains were also pared ahead of the US CPI release, while BOE's Pill saying he was skeptical four rate rises were needed to tame inflation added context on UK interest rate expectations.
