Kiwi in focus as RBNZ hike to 3% eyed on inflation: Oct 27, 2026
The New Zealand dollar is in focus ahead of CPI data and a Reserve Bank of New Zealand decision, with previews pointing to an OCR lift to 3.00% as oil prices and a soft kiwi feed inflation. NZIER's Shadow Board backs a move to 3.00% but is split on further tightening, while ING notes the hike supports the kiwi against the US dollar. At the same time the US dollar has strengthened against the kiwi ahead of the FOMC, with central banks in focus this week.
