USD/JPY bias held weak bearish on October 3, 2026

The yen drew support after Tokyo core inflation reached 2.7%, though expectations around an October Bank of Japan hike have shifted. Attention then turned to the U.S. jobs report, which missed with 29K jobs added as wage growth slowed and unemployment rose to 4.2%. The yen gave back some post-payrolls gains even as the dollar was muted ahead of and after the data.
