AUD/USD bias flipped 8 times to neutral on October 1, 2026

The Australian dollar has fallen below the 0.70 and 0.6959 levels as robust US data, rising US yields and a recovering US dollar have overshadowed the RBA's 25bp hike to 4.6%, with focus on comments from Bullock and Westpac's expectation of another hike in November. Softer US PCE data briefly weighed on the dollar, but the Aussie lagged that move, while a sharply smaller trade surplus, the Aussie CPI report and China PMI data have also featured in recent price action.
