AUD/USD falls to March low as strong NFP lifts Fed hike bets: Nov 7, 2026
The Australian dollar fell to its lowest since March after robust US jobs data reinforced expectations for Federal Reserve hikes, following earlier declines ahead of the NFP release. Pressure also came from a stronger US dollar described as a safe haven, an equity rout including the Nasdaq and Nikkei that saw AUD/USD break support at 0.6950, and a dovish RBA outlook even as RBA official Hauser said inflation is too high.
