NZD/USD news for October 16, 2026

The New Zealand dollar has rebounded toward 0.5600 and to a two-week top after RBNZ's Conway said the October rate decision is completely open and the OCR is more likely to rise. The move came alongside a weaker US dollar on falling yields and after Fed's Warsh gave no hint on the October decision. Stronger domestic data, with the BNZ manufacturing PMI jumping to 56.5, also featured following an earlier drop to an 18-month low on hot US inflation.
